Fensterbau Show Update

This year’s Fensterbau Frontale Exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany was another great success for Stürtz!

The show was held in late March and gave us the opportunity to highlight some of our latest designs for vinyl window and door manufacturing equipment.  The range of equipment on display in the Stürtz Maschinenbau booth showed once again that we offer The Complete Production Solution for vinyl window and door fabrication!

The Stürtz STBAZ-JC-LM-160-Z Automated Cutting and Machining Center was on display.  This European style fabrication center highlights some of the technology that we used in developing our high speed LinearPro series for North America.  This machine provides fully fabricated parts for standard European style windows.  An automated Hardware Assembly Station for tilt and turn windows was also on display with on of our advanced racking system stations.

The Stürtz Evo Line was on display for the first time.  This incorporates a Vertical Four Point Welder with automatic unload and transfer to a single head MC Corner Cleaner with automatic rotation arms.  The welder in this line was fitted with a system to automatically fill the frames with insulating resin during the weld cycle.  This system replaces the foam filled profiles and the fabrication challenges associated with them.  The resin is injected into the frames concurrently with the weld cycle so the welding time is not affected.  Plugs are automatically inserted in the holes after the frame is filled.

A Horizontal 6-Head Welder with butt welding was on display.  Two years ago a prototype of this machine generated a lot of attention.  This year we had the latest design of this now field proven machine.  The welder incorporates four  “standard” corner welding heads with two center heads for butt welding meeting rail profiles.  This eliminates the need for fabricating the frame for meeting rail holes and reduces manual assembly time down the line.

In addition to the two axis MC Corner Cleaner shown in the Evo Line, a 4-axis MC Corner Cleaner was on display with our latest internal cleaning technology.  A pivoting router for cleaning the internal surfaces of the frame provides excellent cleaning in a single head, standalone unit.
Based on the turnout at this year’s show, the market is improving worldwide.  This general optimism in the vinyl fenestration industry, along with our latest product offerings and the new technology we are developing has all of us excited for what lies ahead in the second half of 2010!

Thank you to everyone who visited the Stürtz booth in Germany!  We appreciate your interest in Stürtz and are available to provide any additional information you require.  Please do not hesitate to contact us!
