Crystal Achievemement Awards 2009 - Most Innovative Machine

Stürtz Machinery, Inc. of Twinsburg, OH has been honored by the NGA with the prestigious 2009 Crystal Achievement Award for Most Innovative Machine in the Frame/Sash/Door Fabrication category for the new SMI-LinearPro Series of Cutting and Fabrication Centers. This is the second time in three years that Stürtz has received this honor.

The SMI-LinearPro Series of Cutting and Fabrication Centers is the latest offering in the Stürtz product line.  This state-of-the-art design features the latest technology in automated feed systems.  A linear motor driven system eliminates inherent inaccuracies in conventional motor and gear box drive train systems.  The linear motors provide smooth acceleration and high speed with unmatched positioning accuracy and repeatability.  This provides the tightest tolerances in the industry on cut length and fabrication location.

Stürtz has also incorporated new fabrication technology into the LinearPro Series with the availability of their exclusive “Flying Bridge” system which allows concurrent fabrication, compound notching and miter cutting.  This system reduces cycle time on complex fabrication routines to provide the highest production capacity possible.

Unique maintenance features are another area of innovation presented in the LinearPro machines.  A tilting lower tool carriage for easy access, laser tool breakage sensors with instantaneous feedback via dedicated control module and state-of-the-art PC based operator interface make this advanced system one of the easiest to operate and maintain in the industry.

For a firsthand look at this award winning machine, stop by Booth 731 at the GlassBuild America Exhibition in Atlanta, GA September 30-October 2.
