Open positions

At Stürtz Machinery we design and build industry leading automated machinery for the vinyl window manufacturing industry. We are looking for experienced Field Service Technicians to perform the site assembly and commissioning of new machine installations, and field troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment. If you enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of working with automated manufacturing equipment, this is the position for you. The position requires 50-75% travel, a strong customer focus, can-do attitude, and both mechanical and electrical machine experience.

Responsibilities:

• On-site installation and commissioning of new machines
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair existing machinery at customer location
• Provide start up assistance in new machinery installations at customer factory locations
• including uncrating, alignment, and assembly
• Provide operator and maintenance personnel training at customer locations
• Provide direction for spare parts recommendations with customers
• Make recommendations for design improvements with Stürtz engineering
• Accurately complete Service Reports summarizing field work
• Provide customer support via phone and PC remote diagnostics

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years’ experience building, installing and repairing industrial machinery
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills
• Knowledge of PLC’s, electronics and wiring schematics, basic computer skills
• Solid communication skills, verbal and written. Positive attitude, driven to succeed. Dependable and reliable.
• Ability to travel 50—75% to customer sites within North America
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
• 2 year technical degree or technical/skill trades training desired

At Stürtz Machinery we design and build industry leading automated machinery for the vinyl window manufacturing industry. We are looking for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer at our Twinsburg, Ohio facility to design state of the art vinyl window welding, sawing, fabrication and conveyance systems for manufacture at our plant here. Qualified individuals must have experience with PLC’s, machine control design, motors, electro-mechanical devices, wiring schematics and AutoCAD. Responsibilities:

• Interface with customers and sales to define project requirements.
• Work with our Sales team to develop project estimates
• Design electrical controls for machines to meet customer requirements for vinyl clamping, sawing welding, corner cleaning, and parts preparation.
• Develop PLC software for machine control to meet defined performance requirements
• Design user interface - HMI
• Develop complete electrical schematics.
• Meet required timing for engineering design release
• Provide technical support of manufacturing operations.
• Technical support of sales and marketing.
• Support field service when required.
• Vendor qualification and interface.
• Phone support of service engineers and customers.

Qualifications:

• B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years’ electrical controls experience in a machine design role or equivalent
• Motion control, clamping, machining and automation experience
• AutoCAD, SolidWorks?
• Working knowledge of MS Office products
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Positive attitude, driven to succeed. Dependable and reliable

Qualifications:

  • Experience with industrial machine assembly and testing
  • Preferred electrical/mechanical associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of PLC’s, electronics, wiring schematics and assembly drawings
  • Reliable and able to learn and work in a team environment

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly, alignment and testing of industrial machinery in a production environment for customer acceptance
  • Provide operator and maintenance training during customer acceptance
  • Assist with occasional customer site installations when required
  • Troubleshoot and repair new and existing machinery at customer locations when necessary
